TUNIS - SANA - Tunisia's Supreme Independent Electoral Commission (IHEC) officially announced today that Qais Said has won the presidential election

The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) of Tunisia officially announced today that Qais Said has won the presidential elections.

"After completing the presidential election process and after completing the appeals, the preliminary results announced will be final and Said will become president," Nabil Pfon, head of the commission, was quoted as saying.

In turn, a member of the Independent High Electoral Commission Hasna bin Sulaiman that the Commission is waiting to receive the latest judgments from the Administrative Court on appeals submitted to the election results.

Three days before the end of the second round of presidential elections in the country, Saeed received 72.71 percent of the vote, compared to 27.29 percent for his rival Nabil Karawi.
