The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russian and Iranian diplomats discussed in Moscow today developments in the northeast of Syria against the backdrop of Turkish aggression there.
"The shared conviction that lasting and long-term stability in northeastern Syria and the region as a whole is possible is only possible on the basis of restoring the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria," the ministry said in a statement.
"The consultations also dealt with the issue of the Syrian settlement, particularly preparations for launching the work of the constitutional discussion committee in Geneva and the situation in Yemen," the statement added.
