Demonstrators in Beirut, the south, the Bekaa and Tripoli in northern Lebanon continued to block roads and ignite tires in the streets in protest against the deterioration of living conditions and the decisions of the Lebanese cabinet to impose new fees, including charges for communications.

The demonstrators tried to storm the government serail in Beirut and security forces threw tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.

The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that two foreign workers were suffocated in a building that came under fire at night in Beirut's Riad El Solh Square. Civil defense elements withdrew the bodies and put out the fire in the building.

The Secretary-General of the Red Cross George Kittaneh said that 22 cases of fainting have been transferred to hospitals and treatment of 70 cases of demonstrators and security forces on the roads are still closed in the Bekaa until this morning and there is more burning tires.

Protesters set fire to tires at the Kfarman Habboush Nabatieh roundabout in the south this morning and prevented cars from entering Nabatiyeh. They also set tires on the Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa Marjayoun highway.

In Beirut and Tire, the main and secondary roads and the main line connecting the capital of Beirut through Sidon and Tire were cut off, while demonstrators blocked the Ablah al-Farzal road in the Bekaa with burning tires and closed Tarshish-Zahleh road.

In turn, the branches of banks in Batroun have closed their doors in compliance with the decision of the Association of Banks. Public and private schools and universities have closed their doors in Batroun, Aley District, Metn and Upper region.

The international highway continued on the Arab Highway in Sofar and Aley Ayn Al Jadida road, in addition to the districts of Aley and Qatmieh road towards the town of Bsous, which reaches the international road.

According to a statement by the Lebanese internal security forces injured about sixty elements during the demonstrations last night, which also caused the burning of many shops.
The Lebanese government announced a cabinet meeting today, chaired by President Michel Aoun, to discuss the situation in the country.
