Protesters in Beirut, the south, the Bekaa and Tripoli in northern Lebanon continued their protests for the third day in a row, blocking roads and lighting tires in the streets in protest at the deteriorating living conditions and Lebanese cabinet decisions to impose new fees, including communications charges.

Protesters once again cut off the Abdel Hamid Karami square in Tripoli with burning tires after the Lebanese army opened it yesterday. Tripoli is paralyzed and schools are completely closed. The road leading to Akkar is still blocked and the international highway is weak.

The Lebanese army removed the tires today after extinguishing the fire and opening the two highways in Chekka in northern Lebanon, while the Batroun highway under the bridge of the hospital is still cut off.

The traffic control chamber of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces announced that the roads of "Ruwaisat Sofar Bhamdoun Palace of Asmahan in Aley Choueifat and Khaldeh near the ovens of Shamsin" and the roads of Qib Elias Jdita junction and Tarshish Zahle are still blocked by demonstrators.

In Sidon, the Haret Saida roundabout leading to the roads of Abra, Tala'a al-Mohafiz, Al-Qayaa, and Al-Shamaa highway was closed by the demonstrators.

In addition, the General Directorate of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces announced that the number of wounded wounded by the Internal Security Forces has risen to 52 and 70 people have been arrested during vandalism, arson and theft in downtown Beirut.

Five Lebanese demonstrators were injured yesterday by the escorts of a former Lebanese MP who were shot in the northern city of Tripoli.

The Lebanese media showed on Sunday the vandalism in shops and institutions in central Beirut, including the burning of one of the institutions of the Lebanese Ministry of Finance, smashing shops and destroying their contents and breaking glass before the Lebanese army and security forces can drive the demonstrators out of downtown Beirut and the surrounding streets.
