Tehran-Sana
Iran is capable of manufacturing and stockpiling a nuclear bomb but does not seek to do so, Iran's Special Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) chief assistant Ali Asghar Zaran said.
"The Iranian nuclear industry has been fully localized and we are self-sufficient in the design and manufacture of centrifuges and we do not have a vacuum because of this unique technology," he said.
He pointed out that the secondary orbit of the Arak reactor, which is being redesigned, will be launched within the next two weeks.
"After surveying much of Iran, we now know how much strategic uranium we have and we will use 50 tonnes of domestic uranium this year," he added.
He pointed out that the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization is interested in the production of radioisotopes, where radiation therapy is provided to 190 hospitals and medical centers in the country on a weekly basis.
