Prime Minister Johnson's letter with UK requesting postponement of withdrawal from EU

[Brussels / London 19th Reuters]-European Union (EU) President Tusk announced on the 19th that he had received a postponement application from the British Prime Minister Johnson.

Mr. Tusk posted on Twitter, “The postponement application has arrived. We will begin discussions with the EU leaders on how to respond”.

According to EU officials, the letter is not signed by Mr. Johnson, and a letter explaining that the government is obliged to file a postponement application under British law, and a cover letter from EU Ambassador Tim Barrow Attached.

According to EU officials, Johnson also sent a letter to Tusk saying he didn't want to postpone the withdrawal.
