(CNN Spanish) - The acting Government President of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, will travel to Barcelona this Monday to visit the agents injured in the violent riots of recent days and to meet with the State Security Forces and Bodies, responsible for security in Catalonia.
It was also learned that President Sánchez sent a letter to the president of the Catalan government, Quim Torra, in which he reminds him of the “obligations that a ruler must fulfill if he wants to show with dignity the representation of his community before any interlocutor”: condemn the violence flatly, protect the security forces that fight it and avoid civil discord.
"His behavior has moved in the past days just the opposite way," the president wrote.
MIRA : Increase numbers of wounded and detained in violent clashes in Barcelona
Today I travel to Barcelona to know the evolution of the agents injured in the riots.
I have reminded Mr. Torra in a letter of the obligations of all public officials: strongly condemn the violence, protect the FCS that fight it and avoid civil discord.

Sanchez told Torra that "he has avoided categorically and unequivocally condemning violent behavior," "he has turned his back on regional and state security forces and bodies"; and "he has turned his back and ignored more than half of the Catalan population."
