The tests of the first phase of the new season of the Syrian scientific Olympiad 2019-2020 continued today with chemistry, where students from first grade secondary school compete in all governorates and at the school level for an hour and a half at the same time.

The test questions included questions based on the conclusion and understanding of the fundamentals of chemistry received in basic education, balancing chemical equations, the concept of acids, strong and weak foundations, salts, electronic formation of atoms, chemical bonds and gases.

The competition of the new season of the Olympics started on the fourteenth of this month with mathematics and continued on the seventeenth of it with physics.

During the SANA examinations at Jawdat Al-Hashemi High School in Damascus, the head of the secondary school, Asif Zaidoun, said that the preparations for the Olympics tests were in coordination with the teachers of scientific materials and the psychological and educational counseling staff who motivated the students to know the goal of the Olympics, its activities and its journey as a national youth project that carries an important message to the world that Syria is a homeland of science and thought. He pointed out that high school students have achieved during the past years advanced positions in various stages of the Olympics.

A number of students expressed their satisfaction with the encouraging atmosphere that prevailed in the tests, considering that the Olympics is an important scientific and social opportunity to highlight their potentials, discover their abilities and compete with distinguished elite in the world, expressing their admiration for the way and tests of the Olympics, which depart from the traditional and stereotypical and rely on the logical method and the development of intellectual and scientific abilities to face Challenges in various fields of life.

From Daraa, the Assistant Director of Education for Secondary Education Affairs in the governorate, Wael Al-Salem, pointed out that the opportunity for students to submit more than one subject in the first phase of the Olympics shows the real capabilities of outstanding students, hoping that the students of the province will achieve advanced positions at the level of Syria.

In Lattakia, 1432 students from the first grade of secondary school participated in the chemistry tests, according to the director of education in the governorate Omran Abu Khalil, who commended the objectives of the Olympiad project in creating an innovative generation of young people able to keep pace with developments in the age of science and technology in addition to detect cases of excellence and creativity among students. Incubation, care and rehabilitation as a national treasure.

It is scheduled to conduct biology tests at the level of schools on the twenty-fourth of this month and informatics on the twenty-eighth of it and pass to the second stage at the level of educational complexes a maximum of 50 students in each discipline according to the sequence of deserved grades.

The Syrian scientific Olympiad competitions are held in a hierarchical and consecutive manner starting with schools and then at the regional level and then at the provincial level and then at the level of Syria to start the rehabilitation and training journey starting from the governorates to the central training through the scientific forum held in Damascus in the summer of each year in preparation for international participation. .
