Demonstrations and sit-ins continued in most Lebanese regions today to demand better living conditions and fight corruption and waste.

The participants announced their rejection of the reform paper announced by the Lebanese government yesterday and they also rejected the decision of the Lebanese Ministry of Education to resume the study tomorrow, insisting to remain in the yards of the sit-in until their demands are met.

The sit-ins in Riad Solh and Martyrs in downtown Beirut, Rashid Karami square in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, and Sidon and Tire saw large gatherings of protesters and protesters who chanted slogans demanding change.

Many main and secondary roads in all areas are still blocked by roadblocks and dust, while schools and universities in Aley and Upper Metn announced that they will not open their doors tomorrow after informing the residents.

In turn, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hussein al-Haj Hassan that "economic pain is what led people to take to the street," noting that "the first demands that must be fixed are economic problems."

Hajj Hassan said: “We decided to move to ensure a vigorous follow-up to the implementation of the reform paper,” pointing out that “major popular demonstrations in Lebanon have helped to achieve many of our reform goals.”

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Popular Organization Nasserite MP Osama Saad said in a statement this evening that "the demonstrators are demanding the resignation of the government and the recovery of looted money," pointing out that the so-called reforms and government decisions do not satisfy this people.

For its part, the Supreme Judicial Council in Lebanon called in the statement of judges heads of public prosecutors to a hearing and clarification to see the outcome of the files relating to crimes of corruption and waste of public funds and obstacles that may have prevented to date to decide a number of them and urged them to activate these prosecutions and adjudicate them as soon as possible.
