Heavy rains cause traffic jams in some streets of Homs

Heavy rains in Homs today resulted in traffic jams in the streets of Al-Kharab, University City and Dalal Nashawati due to the rainwater harvesting.

Engineer Haidar Al-Naqri, Director of Works at Homs City Council, told SANA that the rain drains could not absorb the rain density from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, because they are determined to be in the middle of the congestion. Torrents were swept away by rain-grills.

Al-Nakri explained that the workshops carried out a tour in all neighborhoods of the city to ensure the performance of the rain grills in absorbing the heavy rain, pointing out that the grills were removed in the neighborhoods of the city during the past two months and make sure to pump, remove and wire.
