Participants in the sessions of the second day of the meeting "mediation and reconciliation .. testimonies and experiences" on the need to implement reconciliation away from immediate settlements and reach a deep reconciliation that paves the way for the participation of all in the development of political, economic, social and cultural dimensions.

The participants in the meeting, which is being held at the Sheraton Damascus Hotel, stressed that reconciliation is not an instant solution, but a necessity that requires effort and sacrifice and should be devoted in the media and educational discourse, documenting its operations in Syria and evaluating them with studies and researches.

Participants called for benefiting from the experiences of clerics and scholars in reconciliation and the role of clans in reconciliation and the need to focus development projects on rural and remote areas.

The Mufti of Damascus and its countryside, Sheikh Adnan Afyouni Bin, said in a speech that the reconciliation efforts in Syria were complementary to the victories of the Syrian Arab Army on the ground, reviewing his experience in national reconciliation, pointing out that it reflects the experiences of all the work of reconciliation of scientists and clerics.

Father Michel Noaman of the Syrian Catholic Archdiocese in Homs also shared his experiences in the reconciliation and the successes achieved in Homs with the victories of the army.

For his part, Sheikh Bayan Skeker stressed that Syria, despite the size of the conspiracy, will win thanks to the awareness of its people and their adherence to their national unity, while Sheikh Nawaf Abdul Aziz Trad Al-Mulhim talked about the role of tribes in the consolidation of national unity and reconciliation.

The activities of the national meeting held by the Syrian Private University of Antioch and the Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue kicked off on Monday at the Sheraton Damascus Hotel and will continue until tomorrow to discuss experiences and certificates in reconciliation, mediation, active citizenship, women's rights and activating their role and the role of youth in rebuilding the country.
