Beirut-SANA: Demonstrations and sit-ins continued in all Lebanese regions for the sixth consecutive day

Beirut-Sana

Demonstrations and sit-ins continued in all Lebanese regions for the sixth consecutive day in protest against the deteriorating living conditions and the rejection of the paper approved by the Lebanese government during a session held yesterday.

Protesters began arriving this morning to Riad El Solh and Martyrs Square in central Beirut to emphasize the continuation of the sit-ins, while public and private schools and universities are still closed and traffic in Beirut and the suburbs and areas are almost paralyzed with bandits.

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces Traffic Control Room reported that the international road and Aley road crossed the Abbadiya road, while the road is still closed in Bhamdoun El Mahatta, as well as the junction of the Arab Highway link and the blocking of the Aley road in both directions.

“Most of the public and private schools in Baalbek have continued to close since the morning of last Friday as a result of the ongoing sit-ins,” the National Agency said.

In Zahle Bekaa, it was announced that the lighthouse round was closed by the demonstrators in all directions, where trucks were brought from the dust and cut off the roads while the roads of Saadnayel Taalabaya Chtaura before Elias Dahr al-Baydar al-Marj are still cut.

A Halba highway in Akkar, north of Lebanon, was completely cut by tents and non-burning tires, while Halba youths and neighboring areas spent the night in tents until the early morning hours.

In Tire, the crowd remained in the square until late at night, while a number of young men in Sidon closed this morning the Morgan roundabout.

On Thursday, the Lebanese began their sit-ins and protests over the deteriorating economic situation in the country and the Lebanese cabinet's decisions to impose new fees, including charges for communications.
