A Russian fighter intercepted a US bomber on Saturday near the Russian air border, the defense ministry said.
"When the US B-52 bomber approached as it flew over the Black Sea near the Russian border, the S-27 fighter intercepted and escorted it as it flew along Russian territorial waters, 70 kilometers away," the TASS news agency quoted the ministry as saying.
The ministry said the Su-27 fighter had returned to its base in Crimea after performing the mission.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced in July that one of its fighter jets intercepted a US reconnaissance plane approaching the Russian border over the Black Sea.
