In Kent, Kent, nine migrants were discovered aboard a lorry. This is reported by various British media. Accordingly, the police were alarmed in the afternoon and then stopped the truck on the M20 motorway at Ashford in the southwest of the country.
The BBC cites a police spokesman, according to which the nine people were first checked out as a precautionary health and then handed over to the immigration office. Where the people came from and where they boarded the truck is unknown.
It is also unclear whether the discovery of the nine migrants is related to the finding of 39 bodies in another truck in an industrial area in Grays. Grays is about an hour's drive from Ashford in the neighboring county of Essex. The bodies had been found in a truck container during the night of Wednesday, the 25-year-old driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of murder. The identity of the victims is not yet clear, the investigation continues.
