Al-Shuhada Specialized Health Center opened today in Safita city in Tartous countryside to provide free health services to the people of the region at a total cost of approximately 600 million Syrian pounds.
In a statement to reporters, Minister of Health Dr. Nizar Wehbe Yazji confirmed after the opening of the center that there will be a development of the center in the next phase to be a comprehensive first aid center in the 2020 plan to reach an ambulance center where some ambulatory operations will be conducted in 2021, explaining that the direction in the next phase will be the expansion to serve All areas and villages have the necessary health services.
Minister Yazji also opened the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the General Authority of Al-Basel Hospital in Tartous after providing him with the necessary equipment and tools to treat the sick and war-wounded for free.
Residents of the region expressed their satisfaction with this step by opening this center with its specialized departments that contribute to improving the health services in Safita area in addition to the neighboring villages and will reduce many of the financial burden that patients suffer from consultations and medical analysis in clinics and private centers.
The opening of the center was attended by the governor of Tartous, lawyer Safwan Abu Sa'di and the secretary of the branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Dr. Mohammed Hussein, and the presence of a large official and popular people from the region.
