Beekeepers products and production requirements at the first Syrian honey exhibition

Damascus, (SANA) - With the participation of 42 beekeepers, the first Syrian Honey Fair was launched today in cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Reform

With the participation of 42 beekeepers, the first Syrian honey exhibition was launched today in cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and the Arab Beekeepers Union.

The exhibition includes the products of Syrian beekeepers of honey in addition to production requirements and beehives and medical industries of materials produced by bees.

Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Ahmad Al-Qadri told reporters that the ministry is encouraging beekeeping in Syria and has 11 centers in the governorates that produce beehives and parcels and distribute them to farmers at encouraging prices. To the Arab and regional markets again.

Iyad Daaboul, President of the Union of Arab Beekeepers in Syria, pointed out that the Union is seeking, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, to rebuild Syria's bee herd to its previous era.

Fattouh Juma, Director of the Arab Beekeepers Union, pointed out that the aim of this exhibition is to be a nucleus for establishing specialized exhibitions of honey products and accessories, pointing to the constant quest to increase the number of producers and raise the quantities of honey production in Syria.

Sheikh Kar al-Nahhalin, member of the Union of Arab beekeepers Abdullah Okda that the importance of the exhibition lies in the definition of Syrian honey and its quality and types in addition to the exchange of experiences between the exhibitors and know the experiences and make the best use of them.

For his part, member of the Syrian Beekeepers' Union, Abdel Hamid Attaya, said that the participation in the exhibition is an opportunity to market products and supplies of honey production and to emphasize the return of Syrian honey to local markets gradually and to what it was before the crisis.

The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Rima Kadri and FAO Representative in Syria Mike Robson.
