The Syrian and Russian coordinating bodies for the return of the displaced have warned that the Turkish aggression on the northeastern regions of Syria threatens a humanitarian catastrophe and an economic crisis for the people there, stressing that restoring the situation to normal requires the state to regain control of the region.
In a joint statement, the two bodies stressed that the situation in northern Syria is of great concern due to the ongoing Turkish aggression on Syrian territory, which has forced about 165 thousand civilians to move from their areas and make the people of those areas vulnerable to humanitarian disaster and economic crisis.
The statement stressed that to restore the situation to normal in the island requires more than ever to restore the Syrian government control of the region and the extension of sovereignty over the entire territory.
The statement added that it is also a matter of serious concern that the threat of losing control of prisons that include ISIS terrorists is continuing, calling for all efforts to prevent the release of ISIS terrorists from prisons and their spread throughout the region.
On the other hand, the statement pointed to the return of hundreds of thousands of displaced people to their areas thanks to the efforts of the Syrian state and the support of the Russian side, which conforms to the United Nations standards, stressing the keenness of the Syrian state to create the necessary conditions for the dignified, safe and voluntary return of all displaced persons to their areas free of terrorism in parallel with their ongoing efforts. To restore stability and security in the country.
The statement recalled the grave situation in the al-Tanf area, where US-controlled terrorists continue to prevent the evacuation of Syrian refugees from the Rukban camp and take them hostage to Washington's consent, causing the plan's evacuation to fail.
