The Syrian government today received the fourth batch of humanitarian aid and a grant from the People's Republic of China, which included 1152 tons of rice and three detectors for the work of the customs directorate.
The protocol for the delivery of humanitarian aid was signed by Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khadr Al-Salem and Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Damascus Ma Xiuling.
The fourth batch of Chinese aid comes as a complement to three previous batches of 1,000 tons of rice and the target group of families of the martyrs, the wounded and citizens in a number of provinces will be distributed under the supervision of the Higher Relief Committees in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
Governor Al-Salem pointed out in a speech that Syria does not forget the Chinese people's stances in all international forums in support of the Syrian people and the government and its right to defend its sovereignty and fight terrorism, noting that the humanitarian aid that China continued to provide to the Syrian people during the war reflects the depth of cooperation and friendship existing between the two countries. The Chinese Chargé d'affaires in Damascus affirmed his country's support to Syria in the war on terrorism, pointing out that this assistance will not be the last provided by China as it continues to provide assistance to Syria and what its people need, including training cadres that can be relied upon in reconstruction.
He pointed out that China adheres to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of countries and stresses its keenness on the sovereignty of Syria over all its territory and looks forward to the positive participation in its reconstruction.
