The European Union has agreed in principle to postpone the date of Britain's exit until after the end of the month, without specifying a date, according to a European source.
"The meeting was not intended to take any formal decisions," the source told AFP after the 27-nation meeting in Brussels. "Everyone has agreed on the need for an extension to avoid Brexit without agreement. The duration of the extension is still under discussion." .
The British House of Commons passed an amendment on October 19 to oblige Prime Minister Boris Johnson to negotiate with Brussels to delay the date of Brexit from the European Union, while a British government source said yesterday that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will push for early general elections if he proposes. The EU postponed Brexit until January.
The economic community fears an exit without agreement because it could lead to the British government itself to lead to a shortage of food, fuel and even medicines.
