The Ministry of Transport today put several projects in service in Homs province worth more than 1.5 billion Syrian pounds, a project Shamsin road knot on the Homs Damascus International Highway and Khirbet Ghazi tunnel on the Homs Tartous Highway and rehabilitation of a railway link to transport grain to the Homs silo on the Homs Hama road.
The tunnel of Khirbet Ghazi aims to serve the population centers located on both sides of the highway and was implemented at a cost of about 800 million pounds, while the cost of implementing the Shamsin complex, which serves industrial facilities, about 510 million pounds, and the project of rehabilitating the railway link to Homs silo with a length of 18 km and cost about 242 million pounds of Kazahal station up to the Homs silo provided significant economic cost and transportation time.

Dr. Atef Naddaf, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, pointed out the importance of completing the railway link to transport grain to Homs silo from Tartous port and provide 300 thousand liters of fuel in addition to contributing to the protection of the environment and the speed of completion by rail transport, pointing out to work on the implementation of the project of rail transport of grain to silos Aleppo.
For his part, Engineer Nazeer Al-Ghadha, Director of the Military Housing Branch and one of the executing bodies of Shamsin complex, said that it consists of an overpass on the Homs-Damascus highway with tracks to ensure traffic safety for road users and the total length of tracks 1200 meters.
The inauguration of the projects was attended by the Governor of Homs Talal Barazi, the Secretary of the Homs Branch of the Baath Arab Socialist Party and the relevant directors of the Ministry of Transport.
