Russian writers' union honors poet Thaer Zinedine

The Russian Writers Union today honored a number of Russian and foreign writers, poets and media people who presented the best prose and poetic literary works translated from and into Russian.

During the ceremony held in Moscow to announce the results of the annual Golden Palme Competition awarded by the Russian Writers Union to Russian and foreign authors, awards, certificates of appreciation and gifts were presented to the owners of the best productions. An anthology of the works of this well-known Russian poet.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow, Zinedine said, "During the ceremony, we announced the books translated by the Ministry of Culture through the Syrian General Book Authority and in the presence of the authors themselves and presented them with their books, but in Arabic."

Zein al-Din pointed out that the hall was decorated with slogans and banners affirming solidarity with Syria in its war against terrorism and invaders, which confirms the position of Russian writers, artists and creators in support of Syria and its people in the face of this terrorism and its tools.
