Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said today that relations between Russia and the United States have reached a very low level and Washington has not taken any practical measures to improve them.
"The current situation of Russian-US relations is not satisfactory and in many respects it is at a very low level," Ryabkov was quoted by Sputnik as saying at the Gurchakov Fund for Supporting Popular Diplomacy.
`` After taking office, President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated his interest in normalizing relations with Russia, but the problem with such statements is, as a general rule, that they do not entail practical actions by the US to allow us to at least talk about the beginning of a process of assessing our relations. ''
Ryabkov expected a new campaign of accusations against Russia to interfere in the elections before the presidential race in the United States. The next American in November next year will hear and see a lot of such accusations are unfounded. ”
Russian-US relations have deteriorated in recent years because of different positions on resolving international issues, including the Ukrainian crisis, as well as the United States' policy of domination and interference in the affairs of other countries and non-compliance with international law, which Russia strongly opposes.
