Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a telephone conversation with his US counterpart Mike Pompeo on Wednesday that Washington should refrain from taking steps that undermine Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The website of Russia today quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement: The contact, which came at the request of the US side centered on the situation in Syria and the two ministers discussed some aspects of Russian-American relations.
Lavrov had earlier stressed the need to adhere to the unity of Syria and the territorial integrity, stressing the need to end the US presence in the illegal.
