Los Angeles-Sana
Massive fires in California have forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes as firefighters continued their efforts to extinguish them late into the night.
"Temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius with low humidity will be coupled with winds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, creating favorable conditions that will fuel fires and contribute to their rapid spread," the Meteorological Department said.
The heaviest fire near Los Angeles, which is threatening thousands of homes, has forced authorities to evacuate the homes of about 50,000 people.
Local media reported that authorities went to all homes in Santa Clarita, 50 kilometers from Los Angeles, to warn residents of the flames and asked them to leave.
Authorities pointed out that the fire last night (TechFire) near Santa Clarita was only 10 percent contained on an area of 4,000 hectares.
