Bolivia's Supreme Electoral Court has officially declared President Evo Morales a new presidential term.
According to Agence France-Presse that the President of the Supreme Electoral Court Maria Eugenia Chuki followed the results of the counting of 100 percent of the vote, announcing Morales to win 47.08 percent against 36.51 percent for his opponent Carlos Mesa.
The Supreme Electoral Tribunal Judge Edilfonso Mamani stressed the "full transparency of the electoral system in Bolivia".
Morales announced yesterday that he won from the first round of the presidential elections, a difference of more than 10 points from his opponent Mesa, which avoids by law to organize a second election.
"We won from the first round," Morales told a news conference, stressing that the results of the vote count indicate he has the support of a majority of voters.
It is noteworthy that Morales is leading the preliminary results of the presidential elections, which took place on the twentieth of this month with 45.28 percent of the votes.
