Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Russian National Security Council today the situation in Syria, especially in the island region.
"Putin held an operational meeting with the permanent members of the National Security Council during which he discussed a number of pressing issues on the internal agenda of the Russian Federation," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Peskov said Putin also informed members of the contents of his numerous contacts on the sidelines of the Russian-African summit, which concluded yesterday in the city of Sochi.
