Cairo-Sana
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended the state of emergency across the country for three months from 1 am tomorrow morning.
Egypt's Al-Ahram portal said that the text of the resolution included "taking the necessary measures to face the dangers and financing of terrorism, maintaining security throughout the country, protecting public and private property and saving the lives of citizens."
The resolution authorized the Prime Minister to take appropriate measures in this regard, warning anyone who violates the orders relating to the state of emergency with a prison sentence.
It is noteworthy that Egypt declared a state of emergency after two attacks on churches in the cities of Tanta and Alexandria in April 2017, killing 45 people and injuring dozens of others.
This situation has been extended several times as terrorist attacks continue in several areas of Egypt, particularly in Sinai.
