The Iraqi Interior Ministry warned today of the intention of setting fire to the sit-in tents set up in the context of demonstrations in Iraqi provinces to accuse the security forces of burning it.
A spokesman for the ministry, Brigadier General Khalid al-Muhanna, said in a statement carried by Alsumaria News, Iraq: "There are a group of people intend to set fire to the tents of the sit-in and accuse the security forces to divert the march of peaceful demonstration."
The Iraqi capital Baghdad and a number of other provinces are demonstrating to demand better economic conditions and the provision of services, including violence.
