DAMASCUS, (SANA) - The Council of Ministers discussed the reality of services, oil derivatives and electricity in the governorates by winter

The Council of Ministers discussed the reality of services, oil derivatives and electricity in the governorates with the onset of winter.All service ministries were asked to raise the level of services and take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of rain banks and the necessity of the presence of service mechanisms in various regions and the readiness of administrative units to address any problems arising as a result of weather conditions.

The Council instructed the Ministries of Electricity and Oil to use the available fuel capabilities to provide the governorates with electric power according to a fair distribution program that takes into account transparency and transparency with the citizens.

The Cabinet approved at its meeting today, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Eng.

The committees of the Council of Ministers “Economic, Resources, Energy and Services” were tasked with studying the obligation of cities and industrial zones to use and localize the renewable energies industry and to include them in the import substitution program, study their reduction of customs duties, expand their use in agricultural projects, reactivate energy conservation committees in ministries, develop the solar heater law and form teams. Energy Committee to follow up the implementation program every six months.

The Council asked the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade to update and develop the mechanisms of granting import licenses to cope with the requirements of the expansion of industrial and craft production.

It was emphasized that the ministries should pay special attention to “participatory” projects in terms of preparing lists of large investment opportunities and marketing them, providing the necessary facilities to attract the local and foreign private sector to participate in them, and forming trained and experienced working teams in each ministry to contribute effectively to the implementation of participatory tasks.

The Council asked the Ministry of Industry to coordinate with the Union of Artisans to review the reality of handicraft industries in the provinces in terms of production, deployment and organization and secure their requirements and develop a vision to revitalize these industries to be a real tributary of the national economy.

The council approved the allocation of 500 million Syrian pounds to the governorate of As-Suwayda to improve the developmental and service reality in it.
