(CNN Spanish) - Her full name is Claudia Nayibe López and she has just won the mayor's office of Bogotá with at least 1,104,647 votes, with 99.64% of the tables surveyed.

Before being a candidate for mayor, Claudia López was a senator for the Green Party in Colombia in the 2014-2018 period, she was a candidate for the Vice Presidency of the Republic for the Colombia Coalition along with the candidate Sergio Fajardo.

In addition to winning the title of the first woman mayor of Bogotá, López also holds the first member of the LGBT community to hold that position. López is a couple of the senator of the Green Party Angélica Lozano.

López studied Finance, Government and International Relations of the Externado University of Colombia thanks to a student loan from the Colombian Institute of Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad (ICETEX). In addition, he has a master's degree in Public Administration and Urban Policy at Columbia University in New York and a PhD from the Department of Political Science at Northwestern University, where he obtained a PhD in Political Science.

She is the first woman elected in the position. Before, Clara López and Sonia Durán de Infante also held the position by designation.
