The national campaign for the early detection of breast cancer, which began earlier this month, continues in As-Suwayda.
Dr. Nahida Nasr, head of the Public Health Department at Suwayda Health Directorate, explained that 21,200 women have visited the health centers for early detection of breast cancer since the beginning of the campaign, with 508 of them referred for echo mammography and 648 women over the age of 40 for mammography.
She pointed to the intensification of awareness activities during the period of the campaign through sessions, lectures and seminars in health centers and outside about breast cancer and methods of prevention and the need for early detection to ensure higher cure rates and self-examination methods with the assurance that the program of early detection of breast cancer is effective throughout the year in all Health and radiological centers through medical and clinical examinations.
