MOSCOW - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will travel to Geneva tomorrow for ministerial talks of the guarantor countries of the Astana track, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today, "Lavrov will visit Geneva on 29 October, where he will participate in the ministerial meeting in Astana format and will be held with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of Iran and Turkey, talks with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria ahead of the first meeting of the Constitution Discussion Committee on 30 October ”.
The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced on the 23rd of last month to reach an agreement to form a committee to discuss the constitution, praising the efforts of the Syrian government in this regard, while the UN special envoy to Syria, Ged Pederson, said the work of the committee will begin in Geneva at the end of this month.
