New York-Sana

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to put pressure on the Israeli occupation entity to stop its crimes and violations against the Palestinian people.

Mansour called during a session of the Security Council today on the situation in the Middle East, according to Wafa Agency to implement the resolutions of the Council on the Palestinian issue because this is the only way to stop the painful human suffering caused by violations of the Israeli occupation and save the prospects for the settlement of the Palestinian issue.

He pointed out that the mandate of the Security Council under the Charter of the United Nations is the maintenance of international peace and security, stressing that his role can not be limited to the meeting to express statements of sympathy and solidarity, despite the importance.

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations pointed out that all illegal resolutions and measures issued by the occupation authorities aimed at changing the geographical or demographic character of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem, are null and void, calling on Member States not to recognize them and to exert unremitting efforts to reach a settlement of the Palestinian issue in accordance with The relevant United Nations resolutions and the realization of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, namely the establishment of their sovereign and independent state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
