On the other hand, the Iraqi Council of Representatives voted to dissolve the provincial councils and end the work of district and district councils and local councils.

A parliamentary source told Alsumaria News that "the House of Representatives voted to dissolve the provincial councils irregular in the province and authorize the governor to manage financial and administrative matters and receive receivables from the provincial council and end the work of district councils and local councils."

The source pointed out that the Council "decided under Article 142 of the Constitution to form a special parliamentary committee representing all components for the purpose of making amendments to the Constitution and delivered to the House of Representatives within a period not exceeding only four months."

Many Iraqi provinces are witnessing ongoing popular protests demanding better living conditions and services, addressing poverty and unemployment crises, and amending the constitution.
