The failure of the Security Council to find a solution to the suffering of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation is a stain on humanity, South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Nalidi Pandor said.
“The failure of the Security Council to find a solution to the suffering of the Palestinian people is a stain on humanity,” Pandor said in a speech to the UN Security Council today on the situation in the Middle East. Judge an immediate halt to settlement activity.
Pandor condemned the human rights violations suffered by the Palestinian people as a result of the Israeli occupation and aggression, stressing the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state.
Pandor called on the Security Council to implement its commitments on the Palestinian issue, to find ways to stop serious violations of its resolutions, to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and to take further action against the continued violation of human rights and ignoring international law.
