The work of the constitutional debate committee should be committed to respecting the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria, UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pederson told a press conference in Geneva today.
Pederson said only Syrians were discussing the constitution and deciding the future of their country.
Pederson added that the constitution belongs to the Syrian people and the role of the United Nations is limited to facilitating the work of the constitutional debate committee.
