The forest fires in the north and south of California drive more and more people to flee: The flames near Los Angeles now threaten celebrity district. The action star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger had to leave his own house in Brentwood. Even basketball superstar LeBron James and director David O. Russell were hit by the evictions. In addition to the "Getty" fire at Los Angeles, the "Kincade" fire is currently the most threatening in Sonoma County, a wine-growing region about 120 kilometers north of San Francisco. The flames spread there over an area of more than 250 square kilometers. Nearly 100 buildings burned down. Around 185,000 people were called upon to leave their homes temporarily. Yesterday, the fire brigade gave the green light to some local residents to return to their villages. Dwindling winds helped to control the fire in some places. However, the National Weather Service warned against further strong winds and low humidity, which could start again today. (Photo: David Crane / DPA) 10/29/19 5:00 AM Good morning, dear readers!
