Egyptian forces have killed 13 terrorists during a security operation in El-Arish, northeast of Sinai.
According to an Interior Ministry statement carried by the Egyptian media, "the national security sector got information about taking a group of terrorist elements from an abandoned house inside a farm in Al-Hoss neighborhood in El-Arish area and a base for them to launch their hostilities."
The statement pointed out that "the information was dealt with immediately and targeted the den where there was an exchange of fire with terrorist elements, killing 13 of them and found in their possession rifles, explosive devices and explosive belts."
The statement noted that legal procedures have been taken and the Supreme State Security Prosecution is investigating the case.
The Egyptian forces have killed nine terrorists east and south of the capital Cairo on the eighteenth of this month.
