The governments of European countries are complicit in the suffering and torture of migrants wandering at sea, the Mediterranean organization Humanitarian Rescue said.
"All the migrants who survive at sea are still without a port after all the suffering and violence they have suffered, so the EU and Italy are at the forefront of this torture and suffering as well," spokeswoman Alessandra Chorba said.
SOS Mediterari's Ocean Viking is still sailing at sea awaiting a safe harbor for 104 migrants rescued in international waters off Libya 10 days ago.
She called for compliance with the code of conduct, which requires governments to respect the provisions of international law and the lives of people, demanding the immediate removal of people rescued by the ship.
