Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier has left the hospital after his fall on the digital summit in Dortmund. According to the circumstances, he said he would need a few more days to recover, the ministry said. The CDU politician once again expressly thanked the doctors and paramedics on site for the "excellent care" and also thanked for the many wishes for recovery.
As government spokesman Steffen Seibert said, Altmaier does not fly as planned on Thursday with Chancellor Angela Merkel to India.
Altmaier had fallen on Tuesday at the digital summit in Dortmund when leaving the stage and injured was taken to a clinic. The 61-year-old suffered a broken nose and suffered a laceration, bruises and abrasions. This was the result of the examination in the hospital, as the German Press Agency learned from government circles.
