Within the framework of the governmental follow-up to the implementation of projects in the province of Lattakia, the ministerial committee charged with following up the implementation of projects in the province today reviewed the progress of work in a number of service projects in various regions of the province and the percentage of completion therein.

The projects reviewed by the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf, Chairman of the Committee, and the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Suhail Abdul Latif, intervene in the areas of development, service and investment aspects at the governorate level and administrative units, such as the car offices project in the industrial area of ​​Lattakia city and the stores in Al-Hal market for the benefit of Lattakia City Council The craft areas in Al Haffah, Qardaha, sanitary landfill projects in Harsh, rehabilitation of Al Basel airport airstrip in Hmeimim, Jibla National Hospital, regulatory street in Qardaha city and rehabilitation works in Al Assad Sports City.

The Chairman of the Committee Minister Makhlouf said in a press statement that most of the projects in the province are going according to the timetables set for them and directly to improve the level of public services and meet the needs of citizens, pointing out that the phases of work in these projects contribute to overcome obstacles in the event of their existence and activate coordination between different Agencies concerned with their implementation.

Minister Makhlouf pointed to the development projects approved by the government recently for administrative units and the share of the province of Latakia about 14 projects distributed over 14 administrative units with allocations amounted to 926 million pounds, stressing the departure of these projects to be completed to include various administrative units and continue to implement other basic projects and search for projects Investment to improve the level of services and development in the province.

The Director of Industrial Zones in the province, Engineer Mohamed Ali pointed out in a statement to Sana that the project of car offices comes on an area of ​​37 dunums and includes 198 offices each on two floors with an area of ​​40 meters per floor and the cost of about 1.657 billion pounds, where the implementation rate of 45 percent, which is an investment aspect of the Council The city contributes to address the spread of car offices within the city and its encroachment on the sidewalks.

On the project of building stores in the market for the benefit of the City Council between the project that includes 40 stores distributed on two tranches each of 20 stores at a cost of 190 million pounds and the implementation rate of the first tranche 95 percent and the second about 50 percent and falls within the development projects of the city council and hurt in improving its revenues. In the city of Al-Haffa, the craft area is implemented on an area of ​​100 dunums at a cost of 1.720 billion pounds.

The ministerial committee was briefed on the implementation of the harsh landfill, which has completed the work of the ocean road, the trench and the excavation of 20 slides of the first cell in the landfill, according to the director of technical services in the province, Eng. Wael Jurdi, who indicated in a statement to Sana that the first cell will be in service early next year. Concrete pipelines are being implemented for the collection of leachate and gas pipelines with the signing of a contract for the implementation of excavation of 23 other segments in the landfill at a cost of about 700 million pounds, stressing that the project is going in parallel with the treatment of the landfill, which will be completely closed with the rehabilitation of the area and the development of a landfill. Service.

The committee was also briefed on the works of the martyr Ibrahim Naama hospital in Jableh, which started late last July after the government approved the allocation of LBP 4,291 billion for equipping it with about 200 beds in various specialties.

The committee also reviewed the stages of the rehabilitation of the main stadium in Al-Assad Sports City, where the implementation rate reached 98 percent and the development of Al-Basel airport, where the implementation rate reached about 0 percent in a project costing 5 billion and 57 million pounds.

The tour was attended by the Governor of Latakia Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem and a number of directors of public authorities in the province.
