Forty-six people were killed and others injured in a fire that broke out after two gas cylinders exploded on a train in southern Pakistan today.
Some died after jumping out of the mobile train to escape the flames as the fire destroyed three train cars near the town of Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab province.
"Two cooking stoves exploded as there was cooking oil, which added to the fire and most of the deaths were caused by jumping from the train," Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said. A common problem ”in the country.
Eleven people were killed in a train accident in Pakistan last July and four others died in September.
