For the first time in three weeks, US forces have returned to patrol near the Turkish border in northern Syria. According to the news agencies AFP and Reuters. The latter relies on a source in the majority Kurdish SDF militia and on eyewitnesses.
An AFP reporter reported that five armored US flag vehicles were on Thursday in the Turkish-Syrian border area near the village of Kahtanijah, east of Kamischli.
US President Donald Trump had ordered the withdrawal of all US troops from northern Syria in early October, paving the way for a Turkish offensive.
