(CNN) - An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 shook the southern Philippines 9 kilometers from Kisante at 9:11 pm ET Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
On Tuesday, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake shook the southern island of Mindanao just 14 km east of Bual, Philippines, at a depth of 15.3 km.
The country has experienced regular aftershocks ranging between 4 and 5 magnitude.
