The Committee on Budget and Accounts in the People's Assembly discussed the investment budget of the Ministry of Awqaf and its affiliates for the year 2020, estimated at ninety-six million six hundred thousand Syrian pounds.
He called on the members of the committee to accelerate the implementation of the projects included in the ministry's plan and achieve the percentage of planned spending, especially the automation of the charitable endowment and renewable energies and spread the culture of rationalization and upgrading the curricula of religious education, pointing to the role of the ministry in the face of extremist thought during the crisis and spread awareness, knowledge and culture.
In response to the members' interventions, Assistant Minister of Awqaf Dr. Waseem Mawlana stressed the ministry's endeavor to develop and modernize the curricula of religious education in addition to raising implementation rates in its projects and to rationalize electricity consumption in mosques and provide them with solar energy devices.
