In the Ukraine affair, the US Democrats apparently want to question former National Security Advisor John Bolton. Bolton was summoned to a closed-door statement on November 7, the Washington Post and The New York Times report.
Bolton is said to have been highly concerned during his time as National Security Advisor about US President Donald Trump's attempts to urge Ukraine to investigate Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden. So he is said to have spoken of "a crooked thing", the Trumps personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and the acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney "hatched".
Bolton was fired by Trump in September. Both had very different views on a range of foreign and security issues, such as dealing with North Korea and Iran.
Russia expert Morisson reportedly resigns
Opposition US Democrats accuse Trump of abusing the law by attempting to persuade Ukraine to investigate Biden. On Thursday, the US House of Representatives will hold a vote to impeach Trump. The Democrats want to have their already over one month ongoing investigation formally be blessed.
Ukraine's top Russia expert in the National Security Council, Tim Morrison, is also said to testify. Morrison was one of the officials who attended the telephone conversation between Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Selenskyj, which is at the center of the Ukraine affair.
The news agencies AP and Reuters report, citing an unnamed high security official, that Morrison has now resigned. Accordingly, he considered the step for a long time.
