(CNN Spanish) - In Nicaragua, hundreds of riot police on Thursday surrounded a financial center located in the center of Managua, where the University Coordinator for Justice and Democracy called the "March of the Burla".

The activity became a rally demanding the release of more than 130 opposition protesters arrested and that the Government considers common criminals.

Protesters also call for changes in the democratic system and the unity of all oppositional expressions in the country in order to achieve them.

They also expressed their solidarity with the people of Bolivia, where the Organization of American States begins an audit of the October 20 presidential elections that give Evo Morales a winner and with which the opposition presidential candidate Carlos Mesa disagrees.

“We are here protesting the liberation of political prisoners, so that they stop repressing them, we want democracy, as the people of Bolivia want, so do we, the people of Venezuela, the people of Nicaragua, Cuba, we all want the liberation of these tyrants, ”said Tyna Garcia, who participated in the demonstration.

"It is true that we want to unite, that we show it, that the political parties demonstrate on which side they are, the moment they were supporting the population of Nicaraguan citizens and that we all go face to face with the front," said Zayda Hernández.

CNN called the Office of Major Commissioner César Cuadra, head of Public Relations of the National Police, about the operation carried out Thursday on the road to Masaya, but does not respond to requests for information.

For a year, the institution banned opposition protests, under the argument that the conveners alter public order and participated in what they call failed coup attempt, although the peaceful assembly and demonstration are constitutional rights.

Nicaragua continues in a socio-political crisis that began in April 2018 and has left 328 dead and tens of thousands of exiles according to the IACHR. The government of Daniel Ortega officially recognizes 200 dead and has urged those he calls self-exiled, without specifying the number, to return to the country.
