The Ministry of Electricity today launched an awareness campaign entitled (Rushdha to last) in order to rationalize energy consumption and entrench this culture among citizens with the beginning of winter.
The campaign, which lasts until the end of February next year, according to a ministry statement received by SANA, includes various activities and activities through which the focus is on measures that can contribute to the citizen or energy consumer in general by reducing waste in energy consumption and rational and optimal use of them, especially during peak times. The campaign will be carried out in accordance with the Ministry in cooperation with the visual, print and audio media, in addition to social media platforms and sites where seminars and workshops will be held in cooperation with all concerned government agencies. In particular, the Ministries of Information, Education, Culture, Endowments, Social Affairs and Labor, as well as associations and civil society organizations.
Dr. Younis Ali, Director General of the National Center for Energy Research, told SANA in a statement to SANA on the importance of the campaign and its role in maintaining the electrical stability that we are currently experiencing, especially as its timing coincides with the winter peak period of demand for electricity, during which electrical loads increase significantly, especially in the domestic sector.
According to the engineer, the amount of electricity consumed in the domestic sector is about 55 percent of the total electricity consumption in Syria. The first is by reducing electricity bills and the continuity of securing electric power for all.
Ali pointed out that the rationalization behavior should be natural and permanent behavior in society regardless of the abundance of energy resources or not.This is what we observe in most countries of the world, including countries rich in energy resources, where rely on permanent programs to promote and devote the idea of rationalization and the optimal use of resources.
Studies have shown that the rationalization procedures and the rational use of energy can save large amounts of energy, up to about 30 percent, any significant financial savings for both the citizen and the national economy.
The various governorates are experiencing electrical satisfaction as a result of the stable production of electricity from power plants that have been supplied with the necessary quantities of gas and fuel thanks to our heroic army tournaments, the liberation of gas fields and rehabilitation of most of them and put them into service as well as the completion of preventive maintenance carried out by the cadres of electricity in preparation for the advent of winter.
