President of the Independent Algerian Authority for the Presidential Elections Mohamed Charafi announced a list of five figures accepted for the 12 December elections.
The list includes former Culture Minister Ezzedine Mihoubi, former Tourism Minister Abdelkader Benkreina, former government ministers Abdelmajid Taboun and Ali Benflis, as well as Abdelaziz Belaid, head of the Future Front party, APS quoted Cherfi as saying.
Sharafi explained that the five candidates met the legal requirements to run for the presidency of the 23 out of those wishing to run and filed their files.
Algeria will see presidential elections on December 12.
