The center, which belongs to the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, started its work in Sweida in 1976, according to its director Hossam Said, provides training in the fields of electrical, sanitary, heating, air conditioning, blacksmithing and aluminum.

The trainee must be admitted to the center, as Said explains to SANA's reporter that he should read and write well and be 15 years of age without being over thirty-five and decent in health. He pointed out that the training course at the center is 9 months and is free of charge under the supervision of specialists. The number of students who graduated last year reached 51 students, while the number of students enrolled for this year is 57, some of whom have been discharged from science service.

The Center's work, as its director explains, continued in the circumstances of the terrorist war on Syria, suggesting the introduction of new occupations to keep pace with the needs of the market such as maintenance and installation of elevators and the use of alternative energy in construction and decoration, among others.

According to the head of the training workshops at the center, Radhi Al-Qaji, the focus is on the individual practical skill of the student and the development of each according to his specialty, stressing the need to work to increase the budget allocated to the workshops and supplying them with modern equipment and the allocation of uniform for students.

According to Bahi Ezzedine, the center's internal sanitation trainer, the trainee receives practical lessons in his chosen profession and the theory of culture, arithmetic, technology, and engineering drawing to take the exam on the basis of which he is awarded a certificate to qualify for work.

The students at the center, as mentioned by heating and air conditioning trainer Hossam El Khoury, are first introduced to the profession and what it requires and the need for it in working life and then trained in the professional skills related to it. Activate the decision to appoint the first students directly.

During the meeting with Sanaa students, Nazim Sweid, Rami Jareera, Nizar Al-Shibli and Mohammed Al-Ahmad, who were laid off from the science service, indicated that they are going to train at the center to acquire the profession of internal sanitation, noting the good training they receive.

In the electricity workshop, young Helwa Abu Saab in the center finds an opportunity to get a certificate to help her when applying for competitions, despite being a university student, while housewife Lubna Abu Hala is determined to learn this fun profession as she says when Nua'a Nassar through the heating workshop to the possibility of opening Workshop in this area in the future.
